What is DatingStage?

DatingStage has been created by a highly energetic team of enthusiasts to better serve the needs of the global online dating community. After having seen the disarray of many dating sites on the Internet we decided to use a new approach. The result of our efforts was DatingStage.com. We believe that the hundreds of users joining each day since launch is a good indication that we are on the right track.

What features are available to me once I join?
You have access to many features that you cannot see when you just browse. After you join, you have access to increased search capabilities and you can see if anyone has sent you a message. You can even chat live with other members of DatingStage without downloading any software. Other features include editing your profile, uploading your photo, and the ability to see profiles only in regions that you are interested in.

What is the registration process?
The registration process is fairly simple, and it is difficult to make any errors, thanks to our in-house Javascript expert. You go through 19 pages filling out questions and selecting various options. Some questions appear to be personal and any information regarding your full identity is not revealed to other users and is held in our system for records purposes only. Most questions have been designed to make it easier for other members to pick you out, since sifting through many members can be laborious. For this purpose, we have provided a graphical representation of people's personalities, interests, etc. which you can use to quickly determine what this person might be like.

Can I get support while I am an active member?
Absolutely! We make this support available through our own messaging system, so you don't have to remember any email addresses. In fact, we encourage our members to use this service for any issues that may arise, since we aim to continuously enhance and improve this service for our members.

How do I contact other members?
Firstly you need to join our service. You will then receive an email with your username and password. Once you login you will need to upgrade to our premium service. You will then be able to send and receive messages through our own private messaging system. When you send a message, our paging system also sends an email to the recipient telling them that they have received a message and requesting them to login to retrieve their messages.

I cant seem to send any messages?
If you are experiencing difficulty in sending messages it may be due to a number of reasons. Firstly, to be able to send new messages you must sign up for one of the premium membership plans, click on membership plans after you login. After you have received confirmation you will be able to send and receive messages. Problems can also arise depending on the type of operating system and browser you are using. Please make sure you have cookies and javascript enabled to use this site. Sometimes the browser has a tendency to "cache" information and retains old pages making messaging and browsing difficult. If you think that this is the case, please make sure you remove all the temporary internet files that the browser saves over time. In microsoft internet explorer, click on Tools, Internet Options. Click the button "delete files" in the temporary internet files section and then click ok. If you are still experiencing problems please contact
here.

How do I change my Password?
To change your password, first login. Once logged in click on 'Edit Profile', which is in the 'Your Profile' section of the member home page. Now click on 'Personal Information'. This will allow you to change some of the details of your profile. In the box next to 'Password', type in the password you desire. Make a note of this new password for future reference. When you are finished making changes, click on the submit button.

How do I use the Search Agent?
The search agent is a feature that registered members may use that allows you to create and save searches that you would perform frequently. Instead of having to retype the same searches every time you visit DatingStage, the search agent lets you save a search and save time. To create a search agent, first login. Once you are at your user home page, click on 'Search Profiles', which is in the 'Match' section of the member home page. When you are at the search page, click on 'Create a new search agent'. Now specify the qualities you are looking for in a potential mate (i.e. gender, location, etc.) Once you are done selecting your search, make sure you type in an agent name (the first box at the top of the page), which will identify this particular search you just created. Now at the bottom of the page click on the submit button. You will be taken back to your search page where you should see the search you just created at the top of the page. To find the members that meet this search criteria, click on the 'Search' link next to the search agent you desire. To view or edit a search, click on the 'View/Edit' link next to the search agent you desire. When you are done editing or viewing click on the submit button to save the changes.
If you select too many search parameters (i.e. gender, location etc.) it is possible that you will not return any profiles in the search results. Try to narrow down the choices and reset some of the search parameters to the 'no preference' setting.

How does the Chat function work?
The DatingStage instant messenger is a person-to-person chat that enables members to communicate exclusively with another member through our website. To use the instant messenger both members need to be logged in to the DatingStage site.
  • Make sure that your instant messenger is enabled. You can check this by logging in and clicking on 'Instant Message Settings', which is in the 'Match' section of the member home page. The next page will tell you whether your instant messenger is enabled or not. If it is disabled, it simply means that other members will not be able to chat to you.
Instructions on how to Invite another member to chat online.
  • To find other users to chat with online, click on either 'Women Online Now' or 'Males Online Now', found in the 'Match' box of the member home page. This will display rows of users that are logged in and able to chat. It is recommended that before you chat with these people, you send a message to the other member inviting them to a person-to-person chat through the normal anonymous messaging system.
    • If you want to chat with a specific user go to the middle of your member home page and find the 'Search by Username' box. In this box type the desired username and click on the submit button. When it finds the user it will display a row with some user information.
    • The last column ('online') will show small chat link against their profile which means that this person is online and available to chat. If they are not online then it will be left blank. If you see a man and woman holding hands that means they are already chatting with someone. Please note that you are only able to chat with one member at a time.

  • To notify another user that you want to chat, click on the 'Chat' link next to their profile in the online column. A small window will pop up confirming that you are trying to contact the user and wish to chat to the other member. This window will also become your chat window once the other member has accepted your invitation to chat.
    • Please note that the member being notified must refresh their screen or go to another page before being able to receive the notice. The member being notified will have the option to view your profile, accept, or ignore the notification. If they choose to ignore the notice, a message will display in your chat window that the user has ended the session. If the member accepts your invitation to chat, the window will inform you that you are connected with them and available to chat.
    • Once the user has accepted your invitation, you may type a message in the text box at the bottom of the window. When you are done typing your brief message you may send it by hitting enter on your keyboard or clicking on send. To end the chat session click on the 'End Chat Session' link. When you close your session another window from DatingStage will open letting you know your session has been ended.
